The Five Biggest Differences Between Prague And Budapest

The first major difference between Prague and Budapest is the level of service. In Prague, people in the service industries are like government workers, only doing what they have to. In Budapest, the service is more friendly and genuine, more what tourists will be expecting.

The second difference is city make-up. Prague is primarily known for its spectacular architecture, while Budapest is a more nature-loving city with parks on every block.

The third difference may be a bit off-putting. It is well-known that Budapest has a problem with people urinating in the streets and so the smell of urine in this city is often inescapable. This is not the case in Prague in most areas.

The Czech city of Prague is known primarily for its beer, while the Hungarian wines are widely prized throughout Europe. Depending on which beverage one prefers, that may influence the decision to visit one city or the other.

In general, Prague is considered to be a lot more modern in its outlook and the atmosphere of the city. Budapest, while possessing some amazing sites, still has an older feel and some of the culture may be a shock to more modern-minded tourists.
