The country of Ukraine is located in Eastern Europe and shares a large portion of its border with Russia. The official language of the Country is Ukrainian but Russian, Crimean and Tatar are also spoken in certain regions. Travel to this country is best done during either the spring or summer months when the weather is at its best. Five popular and economic cities for Tourist to visit which can be reached affordably via a train from the capital city of Kiev are:

Kamyanets-Podilsky: This unique Ukrainian city is situated in the Western area of the country. The city is set atop an inland island surrounded by a river and is known to be the oldest city in the nation.

Cherkassy: This charming river city is positioned just south of Kiev. Cherkassy boasts a large and amazingly landscaped park called Sophievka Dendro Park which also contains a variety of celebrated architectural components.

Odessa: This sea city is sited in the southern coastal region of Ukraine. Odessa is known for its picturesque beaches along the Black Sea.

Chernihiv: This city is located north of Kiev on the opposite side of the Dnieper River which runs north to south through the country. Chernihiv is steeped in history as it has been the site of many battles and is a regional capital.
